Publishing a book is a bit like having a baby. The process from the inception of writing to finally getting it out there is all consuming. Anything and everything triggers my thoughts about my book. I see other books and I look at them differently now, asking myself silly questions like –why that colour for the cover? What draws me to the contents? How will mine compare to the millions of others already published and lining shelves? All the time I am noticing and picking up hints of how to be a better writer. Just like having a baby, producing this book has so many parallels.
Like any child, we say it takes a village to raise it, and this is so for my book. Without the support of friends, I would be overwhelmed by the enormity of the task. I have told myself so many times that others have written books and had them published before me, so why not me too? I have even shown a picture of the cover design to friends just as I would show pictures of my baby. To my new book; “Beneath the Regime, Beyond the Fear” welcome to the world. I hope that you will cosy up alongside other books on shelves and find your place amongst them.
